After the first failed attempt, Governor Patterson pushed to pass the soda tax once more. The tax is a way to help prevent obesity in America.
In my opinion, I think this is a great idea. The way American's today are is just repulsive. Some people eat fast food, drink fattening soda, and don't exercise every day. This tax will encourage cheap Americans to stop drinking non-diet soda, or maybe even soda altogether. Patterson's been trying to raise over 500 million dollars to pass this tax, but again, greedy American politicians are rejecting it. Hopefully, the tax will pass, and we'll be one step closer to no longer being the "world's fattest country."
