Jimmy Carter is too old to have an opinion.

Carter says Obama row is 'racist'

On September 16, 2009, ex-President Jimmy Carter commented on a recent comment made about President Barack Obama.

At a press conference yesterday morning, Jimmy Carter decided to comment on republican law maker Joe Wilson's "you lie!" comment made last Wednesday. In rebuttal, Carter stated "an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president." He also continued on to say that what Wilson's comment was a "dastardly thing to do."

In a personal opinion, I find it very unprofessional for Mr. Carter to assume something as strong as racism upon a person's comment. Especially considering that most of the people that did watch the health care address given on Wednesday know that All Joe Wilson was riled about was the idea that what President Obama was preaching was just propaganda; and last I checked, freedom of speech is one of our rights as a citizen in the United States of America.
